Edwin Garvin became Lead Pastor at First Assembly in 2007. Ed and his wife, Jodi, have two children, Lauren and Drew. Ed's ministry strengths are in developing leaders and creating community in the church family. He has a heart for those who do not yet know Christ and is committed to reaching the lost by encouraging and equipping church members to become active participants in God's kingdom.

Darren and his wife, Jenni, are thrilled to be back in the Midwest, after spending a time ministering in the Dallas metroplex. Darren and Jenni have one child, Jude, and are expecting a new baby in March. Darren is passionate about being a follower of Christ, showing the love of Christ to others, and speaking the love of Christ to the world. On a typical Fall Saturday you find Darren and his family watching the Iowa Hawkeyes football game.

Tim and his wife, Esme, have been married since 1997. Together they have three children, Yasmene, Josiah and Abby. Tim's passion for the worship ministry is that all who walk through the doors of First Assembly would have a life-changing, heart-shifting encounter with God; that through worship, everyone would find their breakthrough and walk out the doors refreshed, renewed and rejoicing.

Kermit and his wife, Nikki, have been married since 1998 and worked with youth for nine years before transitioning into young adult ministry. They have attended First Assembly since August of 1998 and have been on staff since April, 2008. They desire to help young adults love God so enthusiastically that people around them want what they have.

Mike and his wife, Sheryl, have four kids, Brandyn, Shelby, Carle and McKenzie. They have been a part of First Assembly since March, 2008 and give oversight to the childrens ministries. They have a real heart to see kids grow in full devotion to Christ so they can be the leaders their generation needs. They want church to be a fun filled experience where kids can learn God's Word and how to apply it to their daily lives.

Chris and his wife, Terri, migrated back to central Illinois from Kansas City, where they led the worship and student ministries at a church plant in a metro area suburb. Prior to that, Chris spent several years playing music professionally in rock and worship bands. Chris loves spending time with Terri and his three children and enjoys just about any science fiction.

Kyle and Amber joined the staff of First Assembly to support the increasing growth of our student ministries. Their focus is on creating an environment where middle school students can develop stronger relationships with each other and with God.

Jose and Melissa have been rooted in First Assembly since childhood. Jose attended North Central Bible College where he developed a passion for helping people connect with God. Melissa is blessed with beautiful musical ability and is fluent in Spanish. God and their children are priorities for them.  Jose and Melissa, along with their family, desire to impact and influence the Hispanic community to love God and love one another.

Terry and his wife, Suzanne, have two grown children, Todd and Tammy. They have been a part of First Assembly since August of 2006. Terry's heart for the deaf ministry is that hearing impaired people in the Bloomington/Normal area will know God's word and follow Him.
